Guilsfield have the rest playing catch-up

Guilsfield have the rest already playing catch-up after another win on the road in the JD Cymru North last night.

The villagers are setting the early pace and won 2-0 at Gresford thanks to goals from Catherall and James.

After crashing 7-1 away to Cefn Albion in the week Welshpool Town were looking for better luck in the FAW Trophy at Llangollen but went down 2-0 to goals from Jones and Thorn.

Berriew kept the Mid Wales flag flying with a 4-1 win at Aberffraw with Richard Davies and Drew Cook finding the target.

Caersws are also through, beating Rhostyllen 2-0 thannks to a Glyn Coney penalty and an own goal.

Newtown earned a hard fought 1-1 draw at Penybont in the JD Cymru Premier.

Snaith gave Penybont a 14th minute lead but leading scorer Aaron Williams hit back for the Robins before the break and despite pressing for a winner Newtown had to settle for a share of the points.

Llanidloes went down 3-2 to Colwyn Bay in the JD Cymru North despite goals from Boundford and Bird.
