It was set to be another mouth-watering clash at Maesydre where table-toppers Welshpool were due to host a Machynlleth side full of confidence after their 14-15 win at Aberystwyth Athletic last weekend, writes Gary Williams.
But sadly, the visitors are struggling with numbers so the match has been postponed meaning that the next home game will be against Llanidloes on September 18.
Unfortunately, the other game in this pool has been cancelled – Llanidloes v Newtown.
In the Plate competition, COBRA host Dogellau, following on from a dour 8-3 win against Bro Ffestiniog, and they’ll be hoping for a more expansive game this weekend against a Dolgellau side who play their second game of the competition, having suffered a last-minute penalty defeat by 12-11 at Bro Ffestiniog in their opening fixture.
The North Wales 2nd XV sees Newtown 2nds, fresh from their fine win against Bala 2nds, face a Bro Gwernant side who suffered a heavy defeat last weekend at the hands of COBRA 2nds.
A tough one to call will be Bala 2nds v COBRA 2nds with the hosts looking formidable on their home pitch.
