Jasper eyes World Champs podium

A young local sailor is in the running for glory at a world championships taking place in Cork, Ireland, this week.

At just 13, Jasper Focardi Dolling from Cyfronydd is the current Welsh National Champion for Topper sailing and is competing in the ITCA World Championships against some of the best teenage sailors.

He enters today’s final in the 5.3 Topper Class for Youth well placed in fifth after two great days of racing, winning the fifth race in qualifying (pictured).

The youngster represents Dovey Yacht Club and rose to prominence last October by winning the Topper class at the RYA Cymru Wales Welsh Youth and Junior Championships 2022 held at Pwllheli.
