Welshpool Golf Club’s Tomi Bowen has teed off already this morning in his bid to become Welsh Amateur Champion at Newport Golf Club.
The young Llanfair Caereinion golfer has become one of the top amateur players in the UK, and has blazed a trail of glory through the past week to land a spot in today’s 36-hole final against Max Weaver of Bury St. Edmunds.
Bowen beat Tim Harry in yesterday’s semi-final and previously overcame Matt Roberts and Tom Bastow after qualifying for the match play rounds earlier in the week.
The pair teed off at 7.30am.
