Teams book their semi-final spots

Local shooters took aim for cup glory this week with the Montgomeryshire Airgun League taking a break for Shrewsbury and Wem Cup First Round action.

League leaders Welshpool Bowling Club travelled to Guilsfield B who were given a strong start by Catherine Stevens who shot a 35.1. But with Matt Knight’s 35.6 and Andy Lawrence’s 35.5, the game went to the Welshpool side, 201.7-197.9.

The Black Lion in Llanfair could make home advantage count as Castle Caereinion picked up their first win of the season, 180.8-174.2.

Crew Green B’s Mike Lewis scored a 35.4 as they beat Pool Quay, 199.7-186.1 and it was the The Horseshoe who booked the last semi-final spot with a 195.5-193.5 win at The Bowling Club Newtown.
