Baby in the morning, winning goal in the evening

Tuesday was a day to remember for Waterloo Rovers player Ian MacLeod who witnessed the birth of his third child in the morning, and then scored the first goal in his side’s Emrys Morgan Cup semi-final win over Bow Street Reserves in the evening.

MacLeod netted in the fourth minute, with striker Tom Ellis bagging the second from the penalty spot early in the second half for a 2-0 win.

They will meet the winner of tonight’s second semi-final between Montgomery Town and Bargoed Rangers being played in Penrhynoch. The final will take place on Good Friday.

Meanwhile, Guilsfield lost 4-2 in the JD Cymru North at high flying Holywell Town, and Llansantffraid Village won the Lock Stock Ardal North East League derby, 3-2, against Llanrhaeadr.
