Competition in memory of Barry

Local bowling stalwart Barry Sambrook has been remembered with a day of competition held in Trewern Community Centre on Sunday.

The Pairs competition attracted a quality field with Barry’s family on hand to present the trophies with a buffet lunch and drinks also laid on.

The winners of the competition were Peter Rees and Harry McWhinnie who are pictured with Lisa Rees, Montgomeryshire Short Mat Bowls League secretary and treasurer, along with members of Barry’s family who donated the new trophy. Runners-up were Andy Riley and Rory Gittoes.

Also pictured are winners of the Plate competition held on the same day - Chris McWhinnie, Karen Riley, Sheila Gittins And Vaughan Jones.
