Darts players hit the bullseye

The Welshpool and District Darts League Charity Shield match, which the Green Dragon A beat the Grapes A 4 - 3 at the Punchbowl, raised a few quid for a local cause.

A £100 donation was presented to Laura Greatorex (centre) of the Welshpool Community Haven by Treasurer Diane Parr (right) and assistant Steve Lloyd (left), outside the Ann Holloway Centre where the charity is based.

This charity was submitted for consideration by Mike Hall of the Punchbowl who helped to make the evening a great success with it being the first. Next year’s challenge will be to better the amount raised.

The trophy will be an annual event after it was donated by Welshpool Sign and Print who provide trophies, shirts with logos and all printing to the league.

“Thanks to all concerned during the season and congratulations to all winners and to all helping to make the year a good one,” said Steve.

“Great thanks to all of our sponsors and good luck to Mitch Butler on the Seniors tour, Steve Price at Q school and a special mention to Gareth Ashley on achieving a superb nine-dart 501 recently in his super league match.”
