Newtown Association Football Club marked its 150th anniversary on Saturday with a celebration at Latham Park.
Players, former players, officials, youth team members, local dignitiaries, guests, and supporters took place at an event at Latham Park involving matches, the Newtown Silver Band, speeches, and other celebrations.
The club, founded in 1875, is one of Wales' oldest football institutions and a founding member of the Football Association of Wales. Saturday's event brought together supporters, former players and club officials to commemorate the milestone.
Newtown AFC traces its origins to 9th February 1875, when the first recorded football match took place in the town. The club's early incarnation as Newtown White Stars achieved national recognition in 1879 by becoming the first Welsh team to win the Welsh Cup, defeating Wrexham 1-0 in the final at Oswestry.
The Robins have competed at Latham Park since the 1940s and were founding members of the League of Wales (now Cymru Premier) in 1992.
