Division Two champions, Welshpool, begin life in the top division with a home game against Llandudno on Saturday, writes Gary Williams.
’Dudno, whilst not the force that they were a few seasons ago, will still be stern opposition and Pool will have to be at their best to get a dream start to this campaign.
Welshpool head coach, Daley Jones, said: “We’ve had a good pre-season which gave us the chance to take a look at all available players and we’re as ready as we can be. The boys are keen and relishing the challenges ahead.”
Elsewhere in Division One, COBRA travel to Nant Conwy with a daunting task ahead of them.
Nant have been league winners for the past couple of seasons and the Meifod men are unlikely to cause a major first Saturday upset, but the score could be closer than many are predicting.
Next Saturday (September 13) it’s the much-awaited COBRA v Welshpool clash.
With fewer teams in Division Two North it means that Llanidloes, Newtown and Machynlleth don’t start their league fixtures until next week.
In Division Three North East, there are an odd number of teams in the Division and COBRA 2nds are the unlucky ones not have a league game. However, they will play a friendly at Bala 2nds.
Newtown Youth entertain Denbigh in the North Wales East Youth Division while COBRA Youth play Shotton Steel at Cae Meifod.
