There’s been a managerial change at Welshpool Town Football Club with young boss Gary Jones stepping down.

Jones joined the club 18 months ago from Chirk, but is stepping down due to commitments with reserve team boss and club chair, Chris Roberts, moving up to support Ben Kinsey who will be the first team lead through to the end of the season, to start.

Jones has worked hard on and off the pitch and was praised by the club this morning.

“Welshpool Town FC would like to thank Gary Jones for all the hard work and dedication he has given to the club,” a statement reads.

“He came into the club with energy and ideas to improve the club and to take it forward not only on but off the pitch. He wasn’t just first team manager but he also contributed to the club’s development plan, carried out renovations and totally overhauled our social media presence.

“All at Welshpool Town FC have enjoyed getting to know you and working with you and we wish you all the very best for the future.”
