Two more Olympians confirmed for Sunday’s Welshpool Family Sports Day

Two more Olympic athletes have been added to the roster for tomorrow’s (Sunday) Family Sports Day organised in Welshpool by the Feathers Association. 

Previously we have announced that local sporting heroes Adele Nicol (shot put and bobsleigh) and Dan Jones (swimmer) have confirmed their attendance, and it has now been revealed that two more Olympians will be meeting and greeting attendees at the Maesydre event.

The cat was let out of the bag by Adele, who said: “No matter the weather we will be there with plenty of shelter.

“We’ll all be getting involved with our activities and hosting some fun races!”

Leon Greenwood and Kya Placide have both reached the pinnacle of their professions by presenting Great Britain at numerous championships.

Leon has a background in international sprinting and recently represented Great Britain as a part of Brad Hall’s 4man bobsleigh crew at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics where Adele competed. He has multiple World Cup medals.

Kya is a former Gymnast and Welsh sprinter who teamed up with Adele to win a Silver medal at the World Cup and multiple Europa Cup medals. She was on Adele’s squad at the Winter Olympics in February.

The day is FREE to attend and will take place from 10.30am - 2.30pm.
