The break-ins at Midlands sports clubs, in particularly cricket, that have crept closer to Montgomeryshire over the past two months have now reached the border.
We carried a warning story (here) back in April that Shropshire cricket clubs were being targeted after earlier raids in the West Midlands, and now local police are putting clubs on high alert after Alberbury Cricket Club was hit.
“Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating a burglary which occurred sometime between Saturday May 23 and Tuesday, May 26.
“A number of items were stolen from Alberbury Cricket Club. They include a Masport Olympic Golf dark green mower, an orange Stiel FS70 bush cutter and an orange and black ECHO PB251 2 Stroke Petrol Garden leaf blower.
“Anyone with information that could help officers with their investigation is asked to report it to Dyfed-Powys Police for the attention of PC Simon Morris 1057, either online (http://bit.ly/DPPReportOnline), by email contactcentre@dyfed-powys.pnn.police.uk, or by calling 101.
