An increase in numbers as a result of a stronger trade mostly due to the upcoming Eid festival sold to a strong competitive trade for all weights and grades. Tups of any weight were in strong demand especially the better bred white faced 42kg+ tups, with plenty of these types selling around 200ppkg. Clean lambs also found a strong trade especially the better meated types. Heavier weight lambs again found a good trade selling up to above £100 per head. Still not many lighter weight lambs on offer which resulted in a strong trade throughout for these types. Going forward with the festival being early next week it would be anticipated that trade will reduce slightly, but this will depend, as normal on numbers forward.
