Something in the water for expanding Welshpool firm

The Managing Director of a leading Welshpool company has told MyWelshpool that it is preparing for growth of up to 50% as its business continues to thrive.

Technocover is the UK’s leading supplier of physical security access products designed to protect vital assets, including many elements of the UK’s critical national infrastructure.

And last week it called on MyWelshpool to help advertise job vacancies at its headquarters on Henfaes Lane in the town’s industrial area.

The reason behind the recruitment, MD, David Boughey, said was down to market growth in one particular sector.

“We are experiencing a growth in business driven by market growth in the water industry,” said Mr Boughey. “We are currently focusing on growing our existing water industry market but also looking to develop new markets such as energy and rail.”

The company currently employs 119 people in a full-time capacity, a figure that is set to increase.

“The current business environment is extremely positive. The staff seem fully engaged and keen for the business to succeed. A lot of the staff live locally and have a significant amount of their working lives within the business,” added Mr Boughey.

“The medium-term plans are to continue to develop the capacity in Welshpool where we have head room in the facility to increase revenue by more than 50%.

“But in addition to the investment in the facility and equipment, we are focusing on the longer-term future by investing in apprentices and also generating some of our energy requirements via renewable sources such as solar panels.”

The company develops, manufactures, installs and maintains access doors, covers, cabinets/kiosks and enclosures, walk-in modular buildings, mesh cages, partitions and panels, louvres and window bar sets.

Clients are spread across the public and private sectors, with assets that are vital to the UK economy. Whether that is water treatment and supply, transportation, energy supply or telecommunications, there are installations and equipment that need protecting from risks that range from vandalism to terrorism.

Technocover says that its products supply the vital last physical line of defence for these assets.
