A Father’s Day steam treat, and save money!

This coming Sunday is Father’s Day and the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway is providing an opportunity for families to say a special thank-you to their dads and grandads.

A special 50% offer, valid on Sunday (June 15) only, will allow dads to enjoy a day out with their families on the popular mid-Wales line without battering their wallets. Large families will be able to travel for £33 instead of the usual £58, while adult fares will be £12.50 each compared to the usual £25.

Most of the W&LLR’s trains are steam hauled, with ‘The Earl’, one of the two original locomotives built for the opening of the line in 1902, hauling historical carriages with open balconies, an idyllic way to watch the countryside go by.

The offer is likely to result in busy trains so anyone wishing to take up the discount is strongly recommended to book in advance, either through the website www.wllr.org.uk or calling the office on 01938 810441.
