Daylight robbery!

CCTV captures the moment that a man enters an Arddleen driveway at 12.56pm yesterday and calmly walked off with parcels, one of which contained dozens of pictures of a toddler.

Yvonne Ellis said it was “very upsetting” to see the incident on film after wondering what had happened to the parcels that had been delivered that morning.

Mrs Ellis only recently moved into her new bungalow just off the main road from Guilsfield and in the 40mph zone prior to entering Arddleen, and said she will have to consider security measures for parcels after the incident.

“He ran past our house and to our neighbour’s post box, had a look inside and then came to us and checked the post box, went to walk away and then came back and stole some parcels from our porch,” said Mrs Ellis.

“I am unsure what was in one of the parcels, but the other had 70-odd photos of my 2.5-year-old grandson that my daughter had ordered. I have walked the road looking for boxes just in case he dumped them. It is very upsetting.”

The video, which can be viewed on Mrs Ellis’s Facebook page, shows a black man, of medium build, walk calmly up the drive, pick up the parcels, then walk out of the drive and towards the village. He is wearing a heavy white coat, blue jeans and white footwear.

The police have been informed and Mrs Ellis is appealing for any dashcam footage around that time to be handed over to police.

She is also warning neighbours that other mail or parcels may well have been stolen yesterday with the person in question already carrying what appears to be letters in his hand.
