An incredible community effort has brought alive some of our most favourite book characters for a Scarecrow Trail in Guilsfield this summer.
Dozens of scarecrows have been created in and around the village with a guide available to be picked up from The Bottom Shop (for a suggested donation of £1) which will help visitors to locate them.
The trail follows a similar idea to the successful annual scarecrow trail in Montgomery and it is being organised to raise funds for Guilsfield School’s PTA.
“Most of the village is covered, so it will be a great activity to take part in during the summer holidays,” said Claire Williams, who has driven the idea forward. “There are over 40 scarecrows that have popped up, with six accessible by car, so which one will be your favourite? Join in and make your vote count!”
The scarecrows will be out for the summer holidays and it is hoped to make the trail an annual summer event.
MyWelshpool has had a peak at some of the creations out already and they are impressive and represent a tremendous community effort with the village clubs also getting involved!
