Hoping to be a cut above the rest!

A dog grooming business that only started in July 2022 is in the running to be named as the UK’s best.

Woof Whistles, run by Jacob Jones and Laura Bennett, has endured a hectic start to life in business, having to move from their Welshpool premises in January due to their landlord wanting the building back and setting up at their Forden home.

The pair have utilised their experience of raising their own rescue dog that was traumatised in early life, to creating a calm environment for their ‘clients’.

“We pride ourselves on providing a calming salon experience for dogs of all shapes and sizes despite any previous negative experiences,” said Laura.

“We ensure all dogs feel safe, comfortable and secure in our environment whilst enjoying their pampers. We feel our environment helps calm any nerves from both the owner and dogs to help set dogs up for a successful grooming experience. 

“We use all natural, vegan and cruelty free products as we feel it is only right to use the best, most natural products on beloved pets.”

The business is a finalist in the Animal Star Awards ‘Dog Groomer of the Year’ with 700 nominations received from across the UK. The winners will be announced in November.

The couple said they have a positive outlook for the business and will continue to expand their own expertise through training and qualifications.
