One of the area’s most popular beauty spots is going to be harder to reach after it was announced that its car park will be closing.
Rhiwargor Car Park at Lake Vyrnwy will close indefinitely from today to allow for the ongoing clear-up following Storm Darragh last year.
The storm resulted in thousands of trees on the valley side tumbling down and clocking the road which has remained closed since.
The massive operation to clear the area has brought plenty of challenges and with the summer holidays now over, officials have made the decision to close the car park to the public.
“Thousands of trees have already been cleared, but this closure is necessary to continue the essential work,” a spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, businesses in the area have asked for more information as to where visitors are supposed to park when visiting the waterfall.
One visitor advised parking in the old village car park and walking to the site with parking on the Bala road limited.
