Afterr 18 eventful years, The Celtic Company has branched out in Welshpool, opening an additional gift shop to complement their award-winning card shop.
The two shops are only doors apart on Broad Street and both offer the Celtic Company hallmarks of service, quality and the unusual.
Ros Jones and her team are absolutely thrilled with the premises and the local reaction to their move.
"Everyone in town has been watching the former Chinese being renovated over the years and when we got the chance to take it on we were thrilled,” said Ros.
“It is finished to a very high standard and is a beautiful space to work and sell within.
“We decided early on to create two separate shops - our card shop has won national awards for the ranges it contains and we felt it deserved more space and a place fronting the high street.
“So our original shop at number 14 Broad Street is now dedicated to cards and wrap while the new premises at 18 is a glorious space dedicated to gifting.
“We even have a licence to sell alcohol there and the gifts with that 'extra percent' are already proving a hit.
“We plan to gradually expand into furniture as we have the room now to do it justice, but our key lines will still be fashion and semi-precious jewellery, homeware, handbags & purses and scented gifts.
“As well as some new brands like Montys Brewery and Ashleigh & Burwood, we still have our firm favourites - Jellycat, Crabtree & Evelyn, Portmeirion, Emma Bridgewater, Caroline Gardner, Carrie Elspeth and Kit Heath Silver.
“Our popular tradition of complimentary gift-wrapping will continue, as will our commitment to the highest possible levels of customer service.
“We are all very excited and proud to be contributing to the rejuvenation of Welshpool's town centre.
“Other fellow traders are also investing in their premises - Nikki at Nikki's Boutique, Amanda at The Pinewood Cafe & Bakery, Costas at East Avenue Shoes, Jonathon & Beverley at Partridges Opticians and Kathy at Kathy Gittins to name but a few.
“It is brilliant to see and feel the town improving and getting back its' 'buzz'."
The company's shops are both open Monday to Saturday, 9.30 am to 5.30 pm and the company has plans to bring in on-line shopping as soon as possible.
