Investigation continues into railway line tragedy

An investigation is continuing today into the death of a person on the Cambrian Railway Line in Newtown.

Emergency services were called to an incident at 2.45pm yesterday about reports of a person on the tracks.

British Transport Police confirmed last night the person had sadly died.

The incident happened on the tracks near Vaynor. Dyfed-Powys Police said it had received calls about the welfare "of an indiivudal" in the town.

Train services were disrupted but have returned to normal today.
