The return of a stage pantomime to Welshpool this Christmas was a huge success, with the group behind it keen to develop more ideas with the Town Council.
Borderland Theatre put on three performances of the Wizard of Oz in the Town Hall, selling out all the tickets and giving them the encouragement to do more in 2026.
At last night’s Town Council Events and Planning meeting, a spokesperson for Borderland Theatre had emailed in to state: “The Wizard of Oz 2025 in Welshpool was a great success. The event was sold out and the MP even attended and had great things to say.
“Bringing theatrical arts more to the forefront in Welshpool is an aim for this year with a few different ideas on the agenda to be discussed at our AGM.
“We would like to sit down with the council to see how the future (could work) between the Borderland Theatre and the local community.”
