Cllr Davies re-elected as Events & Planning Chair

Cllr Chris Davies has been re-elected as Welshpool Town Council’s Events & Planning Chair after being told he is doing “a bloody good job” by a fellow councillor.

There had been some doubt cast over whether he would continue in the role following a bout of ill health, but at last night’s meeting he said he was enjoying much better health.

It was Cllr Estelle Bleivas who led the praise for Cllr Davies accepted the honour by saying: “Thank-you very much. I really am looking forward to having another go. I do enjoy it and going out and putting leaflets round for different things coming up and I like to think I am present for most thinks we arrange. My health is better so looking forward to the year ahead.”

Former Mayor, Cllr Phil Owen was elected unopposed as his deputy.
