£1,000 grants available to Welshpool organisations

The Burgesses’ Land Trust has launched its 2026 round of community awards with local organisations able to apply now for £1,000 grants.

Organisations in the old borough of Welshpool (namely, Castle Caereinion, Guilsfield, Trewern and Welshpool) can apply with a number of awards available.

A spokesperson for the Trust said that individual awards are limited to £1,000 but this year the Trust has increaseed the total available for distribution.

“In 2025 we were able to provide help for, amongst others, Borderland Theatre, Oldford Community Association, Welshpool and District Visually Impaired Club, Belan Old School Village Hall and Montgomeryshire Youth Music,” said the spokesperson.

“So, if you are involved with a group which provides services exclusively or in part for the young, elderly or people with disabilities and operate in the communities above the scheme could be for you.

An award takes the form of a single payment but cannot be made to individuals or for-profit organisations.

The closing date for applications is August 31, and an information pack including the application form may be obtained through marykw365@gmail.com.
