Cup wins for Berriew & Trewern

Berriew crushed neighbours Llanfair 5-0 in last night’s Lock Stock Ardal North East League Cup.

It was expected to be a closely fought local derby but Berriew were never in any danger against the Mount Field side after top scorer Richard Davies gave them a 2-0 halftime lead.

Davies struck in the eighth and 46^th minutes  before Joe Haycock chipped in with a brace on 56 and 62 minutes. Josh Evans completed the scoring with a penalty in second half injury time.

Trewern beat Llanfechain 5-1 in the Bernie Jones Memorial Trophy with goals from Stuart Buckley-Roberts (2),Warren Roberts, Luke Grainger and Chris Lewis. Jordan Greatorex replied for Llanfechain.
