Welshpool, Newtown set for derby showdown
Both sides have been in form this season in Division Two North, and Welshpool in particular know that victory can put more pressure on leaders Denbigh if they can see off their biggest rivals at the Maesydre at 2pm.
Full of confidence after their win against Denbigh in their last fixture, Pool will be hoping to continue where they left off and a win would put a severe dent in Newtown's bid for promotion.
Welshpool Head Coach, Daley Jones, said: “We’re really looking forward to this game, we’re finding a bit of form again and the boys are chomping at the bit to get on the field.
“It's been a fantastic season so far and we now need to win our remaining three games plus Saturday’s to stand any chance of promotion. There are five clubs who could gain the two top spots and we’re just glad to be amongst them.”
In Division Three East, unbeaten leaders Machynlleth visit Llanidloes, a team who on their day can give anybody a hard game. Form and league positions suggest a comfortable win for the leaders but it is a derby and I'm expecting Llani to give them a real scare.
This game kicks off at 1.30pm at Cae Hafren in Llanidloes.
