Despite not having won a league game this campaign, recent games have shown big performance improvements for Welshpool as they adapt to life in the WRU Division One North, writes Gary Williams.
This weekend’s game at Bethesda, who are just one place above Pool in the league, should have been the opportunity for possible points.
However, it’s going to be hard for the Maesydre men, who travel under strength through injuries and unavailability, but if they show the quality and commitment displayed in the last couple of games they may get some reward.
COBRA, sitting mid-table, host Bala who are one place higher in the table. Should be very competitive and I suspect home advantage might just give the Meifod team the edge.
In Division Two North, Newtown were looking to continue their excellent start to the season when Dolgellau visit, but the game has been postponed.
Machynlleth travel to Teirw Nant and face a tough challenge to come home with any points. Mach’s recent drop off in form has coincided with Teirw’s improvement and it is unlikely that this will change.
Sad to hear that Llanidloes are unable to raise a side to travel to league leaders Mold.
In Division Three North East, leaders COBRA 2nds will be looking to improve their points total and extend their unbeaten run as they welcome bottom club Flint to Meifod.
