Cyclists in the Welshpool area are being encouraged to take part in a virtual fundraising challenge this August to support Hope House children's hospice.
The Cycle100 challenge invites both novice and experienced riders to complete 100 miles throughout the month, with participants free to choose how and where they cycle. Whether on road bikes, at the gym, or using spin bikes at home, supporters can tackle the distance at their own pace and ability level.
Fundraiser Bekki Fardoe said the virtual format makes the event accessible to everyone. Participants can cycle alone, with friends and family, or as part of a team, with the flexibility to complete their miles in one session, over several weekends, or gradually throughout the month.
The initiative aims to raise vital funds for local children with life-threatening conditions, helping them to live their best lives whilst receiving care from the hospice based near Oswestry.
Registration for the challenge is free, with participants receiving a Hope House branded bandana and fundraising pack to help them reach the suggested minimum sponsorship of £25. Those who raise £100 or more will also receive an exclusive Cycle100 bag and water bottle.
The fundraising effort supports the hospice's annual running costs of £10 million, with no charges ever made to families accessing their services. Hope House relies entirely on supporter donations and fundraising events to continue providing care for the children and families who need them most.
Bekki Fardoe said the event offers people the chance to be part of something truly special this summer whilst making a real difference to local families facing difficult circumstances.
Registration for the August challenge is now open at www.hopehouse.org.uk/cycle100, where participants can sign up for their free place and begin planning their 100-mile journey.
