Welshpool Jewellers to close after 46 years
Welshpool Jewellers owner John Fox announced that it was “time to hang up my hat” in a heartfelt message to customers.
But the good news is that there is a 50% closing down sale before everything must go by the end of the year!
It’s the third blow to the town centre in a week after Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust announced they were relocating to the plush settings of Gregynog Hall. As we have exclusively revealed this morning, Poundland is also set to close after plans were submitted to change its building use into a 24/7 gymnasium.
In his announcement, Mr Fox announced: “After 46 years at Welshpool Jewellers it’s now time for me to hang up my hat.
“I would like to express my sincere thanks to all my friends and loyal customers who have supported us through the years.
“My thanks also to my amazing staff for all their dedication and hard work over the years. I know that Sandra, Yvonne, Sharron and Pat share my sadness at having to make this difficult decision.
“The official closing date will be December 31, 2026. Until that date, I’m offering 50% off all stock. Everything must go!
“Please note that all repairs must be collected before the closing date. Also, all credit notes, gift vouchers and deposits must be redeemed as soon as possible.
“I will miss seeing you all and I will leave you with my best wishes.”
