Business students from Newtown College raised more than £1,000 for Cancer Research UK after organising a Colour Run at Dolerw Park over the weekend.
Around 200 runners, walkers and supporters took part in the event, which saw participants covered in coloured powder as they completed the course around the park.
The students secured funding from Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council to support the event and worked with local suppliers to provide equipment and refreshments.
Local businesses including Morrisons, Hilltop Honey, Sandwich Bar, Open Newtown, Hafon yr Afon and Runners sponsored the event.
Harriet Bailey, Business Lecturer at Newtown College, said: "I'm so proud of the learners for holding such a successful event. If this is their first event, an event that is so successful, and that in their first year, the future looks extremely promising."
The event was organised as part of the students' business studies programme.
