Guilsfield cup dream over

Guilsfield’s dream of upsetting the titans of Welsh domestic football and reaching the final of the Nathaniel MG Cup ended last night.

The village side had upset the odds to reach the semi-final, but came up against a well-drilled professional The New Saints side who ran out 2-0 winners.

A goal in each half from Jordan Williams did the damage, but Guilsfield did have a chance to make it a nervy last five for the JD Cymru Premier champions, but Iwan Matthews saw his spot kick saved well by Connor Roberts.

TNS can now look forward to a final against Swansea City’s U21 side in a match that will be played at Barry Town’s Jenner Park.
