Rix picked up his first win of the campaign over newcomer Haydn Jones with Jones then claiming his first win over Cater.
Rhys Butler had an up-and-down night with a loss to Ewan Jones but a win over Jordan Harding, with Steve Price adding to Harding’s woes by defeating him 4-1.
Gary Jones beat Dan Hosiene, 4-1, but Hosiene picked up a vital win over Neil Astley to keep him in the top half of the table at the early stages.
