A batsman who hit 1,000 runs in a single season has become the first inductee into the Welshpool Cricket Club Hall of Fame.
John Cadwallader was honoured at the club’s annual President’s Day, with his prolific 1996 season remembered on a day that saw plenty of activity down the club.
Tom Hicks picked up the Peter Davies Memorial Trophy for the Dynamos/All Stars player-of-the-year.
The club also presented cheques of £500 to two charities they have supported this year, 2 wish and the British Bloodbikes Association. These were presented to Steve Edwards in memory of his son Alex.
On the field the President’s XI were successful, winning by three wickets with outstanding performances from former players Glenn Chapman and Sam Birch.
