A Newtown company has been recognised with a top national industry award for its work in automation and robotics.

Reeco Automation, based on Mochdre Industrial Estate, won the Innovative Robotic / Automation Solution category at the 2025 Automate UK Awards for its project with Butternut Box, the UK’s leading fresh dog food subscription service.

The award recognises Reeco’s ability to design and deliver automation that helps businesses scale efficiently and sustainably. The Butternut Box project integrated seven RB2000 depalletisers and a fleet of 20 Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) into a single turnkey system - reducing manual handling, improving safety, and boosting productivity at the company’s fulfilment centre.

Rosie Davies, Managing Director at Reeco Automation, said: “Receiving the recognition for this project is a testament to the hard work and dedication of every member of the Reeco team and our partner in automation, OMRON. Together, we’ve shown what can be achieved with a dedicated team and innovative robotics products.”

Founded in 2016, Reeco has become one of the UK’s leading automation specialists, working with businesses across manufacturing, packaging, and logistics sectors. The company has developed a reputation for redefining end-of-line efficiency through flexible and scalable robotics.

The Automate UK Awards celebrate innovation and excellence across the country’s automation and robotics industry, recognising companies leading the way in technology and engineering.
